I used traditional and digital animation methods to help create this promotional video for NYC based digital minting company Etcher.
To create a traditional feel for the animation and backgrounds I printed out every frame on paper and scanned them back in using a printer.
For the backgrounds every scan had to be cropped again and rotated before being turned back into a animated loop.
Since the character was intended to have a paper cutout look to it, clean up and chroma key was used to extract only the character from the image. This way all the elements could be made digital again for the end video edit.
